SICK AND TIRED

Are you tired? Tired of trying to sort out life and the things going on in the world, beat down by the political mess, the pandemic, the vaccine, the economy, career, relationships, purpose and on and on? Feeling like you're in a sinking ship alone? Well, I have some great news for you, you do not have to face these things alone. I know someone who can help. His name is Jesus Christ, Son of God. He is close by, just waiting for you to call out to him, waiting for you to surrender and ask for his help. Upon your surrender he will shower you with gifts such as healing, rest, peace, joy, he lifts us out of the pit and sets us on solid ground, frees us from our captive troubled minds, he is all we need. In short, what I am saying is, he is our help in our time of need, but much more than that, he is a saviour that can bring life to our dry bones and hardened hearts. Yes, I am sold out, completely, with no intention of looking back. So, with that being said let’s get on with the post.

Ephesians 2:1-3
And you were dead in trespasses and sin, in which you once walked, following the course of this world following the prince of the power of the air. The spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. This clearly tells us what life looks like when we live according to the ways of this world. We are taught from an early age to conform to the things of this world, our thoughts and opinions, our values and morals and wants and desires are all shaped by the things of this world, because we all want to be considered normal, right? Well, unfortunately the things we consider to be “normal” are based on concepts and precepts set forth by a fallen and corrupt world. The choice is ours to make, do we just fall in line with this world and sink into the miry muck, or do we search for solid ground?

Satan uses the same resources that we use, news, social media and people, keeping us distracted, causing us to worry, be fearful, be stressed out, have anxiety,be angry angry, and on and onl. He guides us into captivity and consumes our thoughts with the headlines, comebacks, and tweets stealing our faith, hope and joy, turning our hearts to stone, and our thoughts to evil. We are told in Romans 12:2-3 Do not be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…..Now some may look at this verse with confusion, believing that this world is all there is and what do you renew your mind to and how? Sadly, many people, even born again christian’s, think that this world is all there is and there will be no peace and joy until our bodies pass away and our spirit and souls are in heaven. Let’s look at some more verses John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me (Jesus) you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. Oftentimes we look at the verse above and take it to mean that as long as we are living we will have nothing but troubles (tribulation) and this is true, in this world. However, it does not mean that you have to be overcome with these troubles and tribulations. Now, I am by no means saying that everything will always be a rose garden, I am saying that the more Jesus in us, will overcome the world in us. We are told in Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Wow, I love this verse. We are taught to be consumed with “self”, causing us to labor in our own strength, struggling to live up to the standards of the world. This causes us to feel beat down, discouraged, hopeless and helpless, tired and captive, we have become slaves to the world and ourselves. Well, that is the sum of life without Jesus, but there is good news, there is hope. But not in ourselves, not in any one person, not in government, the FDA, the CDC the WHO ,what or when. Only by surrendering, laying down our worries, our anger, our independent way of thinking, we have to give over the ownership of self to Jesus. We have to know that without God we can do nothing.

As always, if this has helped one person, then I have achieved my goal and I am thankful for that. I pray that you find the peace, love, joy and happiness that comes from our saviour.

The thief is after our knowledge!
